BIQ Second Shabbat

Dear Friends and Families of BIQ 2021,

We cannot believe we have reached our second Shabbat at Camp! It feels like our participants just unloaded the busses and met our team for the first time. A lot has happened over the last week, and our participants have grown exponentially as a group. It is hard to believe that just nine days ago we were 7 individual camps. This week, we introduced our participants to their Hadrachah groups, a group of 10 individuals (that meet daily) to work together and grow their leadership skills. The groups have started exploring who they are as leaders, how they can help each be their best selves, and we have begun the process of developing them as the future staff of the CYJ affiliated madrichim.

Yesterday, our chevre participated in Yom Israel! Led by Shayli and Leah, we had a Tel Aviv beach party, made homemade Ice Cream, met influential Israelis (past and present) and took a ‘tour’ of Israel!

As we sign off for Shabbat, we are reflecting on the days that have past. While we have dealt with challenges of not being in our own space, COVID-19 restrictions, etc. we are putting those behind us and looking toward a new week of memory building, growth, and community.

Stay tuned for our full week album posted on Sunday!

Shabbat Shalom, and Chazak Ve’Ematz,
